How to set a Default RTF Editor in Windows 11

  1. Right-click any .rtf file on your computer.

  2. Select "Open with" > "Choose another app".

  3. If the editor you want isn’t listed, click "More apps", then scroll down and choose "Look for another app on this PC".

  4. Navigate to the executable file for your preferred editor (e.g., C:\Program Files\...).

  5. Check "Always use this app to open .rtf files".

  6. Click OK.

Your system will now use that program every time you open an RTF file.
