WoodLINKS USA-IWF Contest
The finalists are gearing up! WoodLINKS USA and the International Woodworking Fair have again
joined together to present this national student competition involving the design and marketing of a ready-to assemble (RTA) wooden product.
KCD Software takes pride in sponsoring this challenge where teams of up to four students must develop and submit an entry with a thorough understanding of what is required to design, build, market and manufacture a wood product within the industry.
KCD Software Developer Tim Murphy talks about the contest, the WoodLINKS organization and the movement to help teach America’s youth about woodworking; “Now more than ever, the U.S. needs skilled talent in the woodworking industry. WoodLINKS offers a great marriage between education and industry to promote woodworking skills and management knowledge for the next generation. It’s an honor to support these talented young adults and the WoodLINKS program as it helps to ensure the future success of the U.S. wood manufacturing industry within the global marketplace.”
From the entries, four schools have been selected to display five projects at IWF in the special “WoodLINKS USA Showcase” located in Booth 3255 of building A. A national winner will be selected from the five projects in Atlanta at IWF.
Good luck, students!
